Balogh International Shipping Information
►The Basics:
- Due to an
ever increasing cost of UPS fuel surcharge, shipping is normally $12 for the 1st book (if shipped to a commercial address), $15.00
if shipped to a residence. Insurance is an additional cost
depending on value.
Additional books within the same shipment
are $2.00 each or more depending on weight of the box. Heavier books are
charged depending on weight.
- We ship all continental USA packages by standard UPS, unless you
request delivery to a P.O. Box in which case there is no insurance and the
risk is yours.
- US territories outside the continental USA are usually shipped by Priority
Mail or FEDEX/UPS.
- We ship all packages to Canada by UPS if
over 4 pounds or of value over $400 due to an insurance limitation by the
Canadian post office.
►United
Parcel Service
If you receive a damaged shipment, report
it to UPS immediately, do not accept a damaged box without first looking at the
contents, UPS must be informed of the damaged condition of the book and original
packing must be saved as proof of damage file a claim with UPS. This has
only happened a few times, but unless you have the original packaging, we cannot
accept the return.
►Some other helpful
UPS tools...
Track your package from anywhere in the world to see where your
package is right now. A tracking number will be provided to you upon request.
Enter that number in below.
►A few things to keep in
mind...
- Please note that books coming from foreign countries do not always arrive in
mint condition.
Think about it: they go from the publisher to the
warehouse, over the ocean, then from us to you. They invariable have small "dog-ears" at the corners.
We try to supply
books in mint condition, but this is not always possible, especially for paperback books
(some of which have very cheap, flimsy covers). If you
require perfect copies, let us know in case we have to cancel your order.
- We insure all books sent by United
Parcel Service.
Please note: books sent by the cheaper Book Rate are not insured and customer takes the risk of books getting lost. If you require
insured shipping, let us know and we will quote the Parcel Post Insured rate. Books are
rarely lost in the mail. In 9 years, we have had reports of only two lost
shipments.
- Foreign customers assume the risk of lost shipments
after the parcel leaves US territory.
At your request, we will supply you a certificate of
delivery to our Champaign post office. To date, NO shipments have been
lost.
- We can send shipments by the more expensive insured Parcel Post rates as well as
United Parcel Service (Europe, Japan, elsewhere)- but beware, these rates are very high. The more pounds of books shipped, the cheaper it is per book shipped. If several people at
your institution want books, we can combine all orders into one large shipment, with
each individual order accompanied by its own invoice. Institutions ordering many books can
request large shipments also by UPS. For approximate shipping rates, figure an average
book to weigh two pounds. Add one pound for packing materials.
- We ship anywhere in the
world by airmail - inquire.
